Dressed for Success
Being known as a kindness should be the goal of every Christian. But that is not an easy goal to achieve. We have conditioned ourselves to be impatient. Thinking mostly of ourselves, we consider the slightest inconvenience a personal attack. For that reason, we often treat cashiers and waitresses rudely. We are also ill-mannered to slow drivers and anyone else who dares to get in our way. With horns blowing, sharp words, and a sour look on our faces, we often clothe ourselves with rudeness.
Many people consider gentleness and kindness to be signs of weakness. However, that is not true. I believe the power of kindness is second only to the power of the Holy Spirit. Being kind is the ultimate show of strength. If we cloak ourselves with kindness, we will become real-life superheroes.
Being kind does not come easily for most of us. That is why we must consider Jesus. When He forgave us of our sins, it was because of His compassionate kindness. So, now you and I can do no less than be kind and compassionate to one another. God has chosen us and made us His people. We manifest the love of God when we clothe ourselves in humility and kindness.
God dearly loves His children, and that is why He chose us and set us apart. So, no one should ever be surprised by the kindness of a child of God. It is faith in Jesus that has saved us. We are commanded to add goodness, self-control, godliness, and brotherly kindness to this faith. With a gentle word, we can turn away anger. With a good word, we can encourage, and with a kind word, we can calm a troubled heart. For this reason, we should always clothe ourselves with mercy, gentleness, and kindness. If we do this, we will be dressed for success.

how do we “confess our sins one to another”? kindness is the start – I have fussed at my wife for some infraction and I was wrong – thank you for the challenge
