Don’t be a Fool Psalm 14

Moron’s

The Bible says, “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”  I am glad God said that. Now I don’t feel so bad about it when I think it. Did you know the Greek word that is translated “fool” also translates to the English word “moron”?  So, basically what the Bible says is that only a moron would not believe in God.

Now as my fingers grip the pen that writes these words, I consider the amazingly complex design of my hand. An incredible system of muscles, tendons, and ligaments gives me the dexterity to hold a pen and write these words.

I also think about the miracle that is the Human brain.  Consider this, my brain formulates the words that make up my thoughts.  Then it communicates through a system of nerves to my hand, instructing it to grip a pen and make specific motions. This causes certain words to appear on a piece of paper. These words are the exact reproduction of my thoughts.  Take a minute and think about that amazing process.

You know some poor fools think that we are accidents of nature. That we evolved from a slime pit.  And they call those of us who believe in God simple-minded. Hmm.

Now, you have a choice, you can believe the creation story that is found in the Bible, and God was there so He knows what He is talking about. Or we can believe Darwin’s theory and claim to be kin to a monkey.

You know, only a moron would do that.

“The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”

Psalms 14:1 NKJV

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

II Corinthians 10:3-6 NKJV

Pavement Ends Ministry

After years of serving in a pastoral role in several churches, I retired from leading a church full time, but wanted to stay active in preaching the Gospel. I started writing brief, parable-like devotions that were shared through a radio ministry. At the end of the radio spot, I always invite people to come and see me “down where the pavement ends.” (Which comes from the fact that I literally live at the end of a paved road!)
